Great holiday and yes, we will be returning - despite the thin walls. Plenty to do in Alanya but we were warned about the aqua park, apparently not too good.

Alanya is a short drive away and there is a free bus from the hotel twice a day but it's cheap to use a dolmush (local minibus) at 3 lira per person. We paid just under £400 each with flights, transfers and accommodation which is very good for everything you get. There is food available 24/7 and all staff are very friendly and helpful. Don't be put off by a very few negative reports, it's either bad luck they had or they are expecting an awful lot for what is a cheap all inclusive break. Your kids will love them ! Despite the distance to the airport, give this hotel a try and come away feeling you were glad you took a chance :-) It's a 2 hour transfer from the airport but at least you'll know you are missing the throngs of drunken Brits who tend to stay in Antalya. They work their socks off and are 1st class, friendly and very engaging. The best bit was the entertainment team, who are called the animation team. We had enough Sun lounges and despite there being plenty of German guests, no towels were left out to 'baggsy' seats. The pool with the slides is big enough, but nowhere near as big as they make it look on their website. The rooms have paper thin walls too and you will hear EVERYTHING from your neighbours - and they will hear you too ! The food was excellent at all meal times and enough variety for our week there. It turned out that it is just a separated part of the room before the balcony and frosted glass doors, so if you were hoping for some privacy you will be disappointed. Our only gripe was the 'interconnected' rooms which we were hoping was a separate space for our 2 lads. Stayed here for a week and in my honest opinion it is worthy of a 4 star hotel. But do make time to get the bus up to the castle, just for the stunning views over the Bay of Alanya. The trouble with all-inclusive holidays is that there is a disincentive to leave the hotel and see the local sights. There is a small sign requesting food and drink are not taken upstairs, but this is usually ignored. Knocked a cup of coffee out of my hands, and a lady with a plate heaped high with food was embarrassed when the contents and broken plate decorated the entire floor of the lift. Beware the lift doors, which tend to close abruptly and forcefully. Later someone said it was probably a poisonous viper.

I thought it was probably a grass snake but the employees took it very seriously, one of the gardeners beating it mercilessly with his shovel. A 12 inch, very thin dark snake was found near the pool one day and caused great excitement. You either resented their being in your face or admired their refusal to take no for an answer. The "animators" or entertainers caused conflicting emotions. The staff were generally helpful and pleasant, but there's always one or two. Strange how quickly you get used to luxury: after a few days you take the sumptuous decoration and molly-coddling service for granted. Fully agree that this hotel deserves its 5 stars.
